Quality Stock
We go to great lengths to ensure we only sell high quality VW camper vans. Our stock comes to us through various channels such as; established trade contacts including VW main dealer network, private individuals using our 'Sell Your VW Campervan' service and us actively sourcing stock from what is on the market. We reject more than we buy to ensure we only retail the best possible used VW camper vans.
Know Your Product
Every vehicle we buy is subject to HPI vehicle history report to ensure it is not registered as subject to an insurance claim, stolen or finance owning. Once at our premises in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire each VW camper receives a number of pre-sale checks to help us get to know each vehicle and any work aside from our standard preparation that is required. Our checks comprise of; 100+ point mechanical health check, pre-habitation check, exterior to do list and interior to do list.
Service History
All the campers associated receipts and paperwork is reviewed to truly evaluate its mechanical and MOT history. If we say it has full service history then it will have either been serviced annually or in line with the manufactures recommendations based on mileage. (Some VW campers do very little mileage a year and so don’t necessarily need servicing annually). If a vehicle hasn’t got proven full service history then we reflect this to say either, comprehensive or partial. When it comes to cambelts, if we can’t prove it has been changed within the last four years then we will replace pre sale. All paperwork is organised into date order for ease of review on viewing.
Exterior Preparation
The starting point with any camper is our deep clean jet wash to remove road dirt, tree fall out and any other dirt / algae. We only use Autoglym valeting products and all members of staff are Autoglym trained to ensure each product is used effectively. Once clean we will evaluate any bodywork requirements, be they minor body damage, paint defects or paintless dent removal of car park dinks. The vehicle will then be machine polished to remove any last minor imperfections and paint swirls etc. Next comes a coat of hand applied wax to ensure the quality of finish is preserved along with the dressing of tyres and non-painted plastic trim.
Interior Preparation
Once the external valet is complete on our VW campers, we turn our attention to the interior, again using Autoglym valeting products. The first stage is a thorough vacuum to remove any lose items of dirt. All upholstery and carpets then receive a wet vacuum using biological cleaner to remove any ground in dirt and freshen up for the new owner. Every cupboard, nook and cranny get cleaned and dressed with the correct cleaning product for the finish required, including the appliances. It’s at this stage that we will address any items of wear and tear such as items of trim etc.
Mechanical Checks
Our mechanical health check comprises a comprehensive road test and workshop based 100+ checklist. Each wheel is removed and items such as brakes, suspension and steering are checked along with tyres, exhaust and electrical systems. Any items requiring attention are noted for our mechanic to undertake along with any routine oil or cambelt servicing required. Once complete, the camper then goes for a fresh MOT to ensure everything is as it should be for the new owner.
Habitation Checks
Campervan habitation checks are something of a grey area. They are not required by law for resale and not many private customers know what they are. They can and should only be carried out by a suitably qualified engineer and cover items such as the safety and operation of all the gas, electrical and water systems along with general items such as overall build quality and operation of roof vents etc. Once complete, a certificate is issued which lasts for a period of one year. We undertake habitation checks for a number of reasons, not least so we can prove that all the features of the campervan conversion work but also that they are safe to use.
Viewings
We understand that buying a campervan can sometimes be daunting and even confusing. Knowing you want a VW can just be the start. That’s why we try to provide as much information on each of our VW campers for sale as possible along with general information on the base vehicles and conversions available. Viewings are very informal and give you the time to browse your preferred camper at leisure, during which we are on hand to answer any questions you may have and make a brew! We are more than happy to undertake a test drive and have a set route which takes in three miles of country lanes and dual carriage way. Once happy a £500 deposit secures your camper which is payable by card or cash.
Handover
We normally advise that a minimum of an hour is allocated for collection of your camper as in addition to finalising the paperwork and taxing the vehicle, we will undertake a full demonstration of all the campers fixtures and fittings. You’ll be given a full set of instruction manuals but by conducting a demonstration you’ll have peace of mind that everything on the camper works as it should.
After Sales Care
As can be seen from the above we make huge efforts to not only source the best VW camper vans we can but also to get to know them thoroughly with the aim to provide customers with the best possible used VW campervans for sale given their age and mileage. Help and advice is always on offer post collection and should the unforeseen happen and a issue arise we will do our upmost to assist in reaching a swift and amicable result. Each vehicle is supplied with a three month in house dealer warranty which can be extended if desired to a 12 or 24 month warranty by upgrading at the buyers cost to one provided by our third party warranty provider.
